YOUR SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY

Is Colombia safe to travel? This is a common and understandable question. Despite the country has gone through some very rough decades, an incredible transition have been taken and still is taking place. While it can’t be denied that there are still areas that should be strictly avoided, it is a fact that Colombia changed from one of the most dangerous countries in the world into a welcoming country that is safe to travel. Tourism in Colombia has increased significantly in recent years and is still growing fast.

Colombia is an amazing country with very friendly and welcoming people. It is not uncommon that Colombians will tell you out of the blue: “bienvenidos!” (welcome), and many of them will offer help without needing to ask for it. They give a very good safety advice though, which should be taken into account: “don’t give papaya!” In other words: don’t show off with your valuable belongings like watches, jewelry and expensive phones. Always make sure to keep items like your phone, camera and wallet close to you.

With our on-ground experience we are always up-to-date with the latest local news and developments and while being in Colombia ourselves, we are well able to offer good help when needed.

We require you to get your own travel insurance for health and luggage. Please check the official travel advice from your government for Colombia, this can impact the validity of your travel insurance.
