Packing for your trip

Packing for your trip

These packing tips might help you pack the things you need for your travel in Colombia. The country is home to many climates and circumstances, so our most important advice is to pack variously for varied weather conditions. Here, you can find the most important tips for packing for your trip in Colombia. Rainy season is usually in May and from October until November. In the rainy season it’s mostly raining a few hours per day, depending on the region.

Sunny but chilly
In places with high altitude, like the capital Bogotá and the Coffee Region, the days can be sunny but fresh, and the temperature decreases in the night. Sunny moments are alternated with clouds and occasional rain. Make sure to pack long pants, long sleeved shirts, closed shoes, a sweater and a light rain jacket.

Pleasantly warm
In places with an altitude of around 1500 meter like Medellín, day temperatures are incredibly pleasant, being around 25°C. Pack t-shirts, short pants and dresses. We advise to also bring some fresh long sleeve outfits that you might need when going out at night.

Hot & humid or hot & dry
On both Colombia’s Caribbean coast as well as its Pacific coast it is usually hot and humid. Make sure to pack light clothing, a cap or a hat, a good pair of sunglasses and swimwear.

The Amazon jungle is a very hot and humid area too, but there are many mosquitos and bugs. Bring light clothing with long sleeves, long trousers and socks to cover your ankles.
